Whether you spend too much time on your phone or you can't find the WordDoc you just saved, digital clutter is your problem.
What is Digital Clutter?
First let me define clutter in general, clutter is anything that we have that distracts us from what we value most. Or according to Bing dictionary, clutter is, "A collection of things lying about in an untidy mass." So, digital clutter, is simply things that lie around in an untidy mass inside our tech devices, rather than on our floors. These things distract us just as much as our physical clutter. And I would argue in our digital age, probably even more.
Some common examples of digital clutter include a messy desktop, having 30+ tabs open on your browser, computer files that are labeled unhelpfully, and having countless unread notifications on your phone or in your inbox. These digital distractions really steal our time. That is why I'm so passionate about this topic. When we effectively organize and declutter our devices, we create time for things that we really want to do. That's what I want to help give you. You can get started on your own by reading the rest of this series on digital decluttering with my 30 day digital declutter challenge and my tips on how to declutter your notifications.
Digital Clutter Also = Wasting Time
Digital clutter can also include the time we waste on our screens that doesn't add value to our life. Endless scrolling anyone?
